This year Corey has spent a bit extra time in the USA to attend to some family events. My visit was planned around the McDaniel Family Reunion which occurred over Labor Day Weekend. Corey and I used the trip up to St. Marie's, Idaho to stop at my Mom's in Pasco and his Dad and Meg's house in Spokane. While in Pasco I was able to do a short happy hour with friends from KHS. We started planning our 35th reunion... let's keep it moving people!
The weather was lovely for the trip to Idaho! My cousins Sally and Mark Grant hosted the reunion at their place on the St. Joe River. The have made this homestead, originally settled by our Aunt Dolly and Uncle HJ Hartman their own. For me, this beautiful place has sweet memories around every corner. The reunion was well attended by my immediate family and all but one of my 5 siblings was present. We missed Bob McDaniel and family!! The rest of us had some fun in boats down on the river and spent a lot of time eating Mom's cookies. The Grant's put on some great chow and we were able to celebrate our Aunt Peg's birthday over the weekend as well.
Here are some pics from the reunion for those of you that don't do Facebook.
The majority of our time was spent between Jenny and Zach's house in Portland and our little place in Rockaway Beach. Spending as much time as possible with little Zoe and visiting friends and family was the the "menu" for each day. We do thank everyone that visited with us, either at happy hours in PDX or made a trip out to the beach.
Here are some fun pics of the beach. Did I mention Zoe is awesome?! :)
So, I will close this post with the obligatory sunset pic from Rockaway.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more adventure!
