![]() I'm back home in Scarborough, QLD Australia. Down below the equator fall is truly in the air. The down comforter is in use and I have even worn long sleeve t-shirts and a light hoodie, although they were matched with shorts. Ahhh, I do like it hotter than this. That said, I have to admit that a bit of cool weather after my past 3 weeks in tropical Asia is quite refreshing. These orchids that grew like weeds in Thailand would take some TLC beyond my skills (well proven) to survive here at home. Is Plant Boy reading these blogs? If so, no comments on orchid growing skills please... Corey and I hung out for a week in Phuket and went to the island of Koh Phi Phi Don for a couple of nights. It is about a 2 hour ferry ride from Phuket. Such a beautiful place! It is two steep mountains with a small flat section in between. The island is covered in greenery and the water is a clear turquoise blue to deep blue. The flat section on one side is a long beautiful beach. The other side is more of a boat harbour and has the main ferry dock. You can walk everywhere on Phi Phi but the locals ride around on bicycles. They call out "beep beep" and then about run you over. If you want a quiet island paradise it is NOT for you... it's a party centre at night and a lot of fun if you want to cut loose a bit, watch fire spinners on the beach, and join the throngs of young pups grinding away on the beachside dance floor. Yep, I did all three of those. We had a wonderful seafood dinner at a table next to the water and even some Mexican food that wasn't too bad. Most of you may know that I must try any Mexican restaurant I run into outside of the USA/Mexico. So far, my own kitchen in Aussie puts out the best Mexican I've found anywhere outside my usual haunts across the US. These flavours may have to relocate to a beachside cart in Thailand even if just to keep me in Mexican chow. Hmmmm, my encore career? World Kitchen on Wheels? Bertha you out there??? I will attach some pics of our trip to Koh Phi Phi Don. I hope you enjoy them although I realise that they have a common theme... I arrived back in Brissy early Monday am and spent the week hard at week trying to catch up from a 3 week business trip followed by real R & R. So looking forward to my yoga class tomorrow. Normally we are outside next to the beach but this weekend's weather may not permit. I'm just happy to get back to class and see my local yogi pals. Well, that's about it for tonight. Have you considered putting the orchid picture on Redbubble? It has a different kind of appeal - I love it!
